“Classmates,

This is Beth (Bales) Toy.   Gary Daniels and I have been talking for a while about doing a mini class reunion here in Las Vegas.  Gary picked the weekend of Friday June 7th - Sunday June 9th.  He sent out an email to see what interest there was and had about 12 to 15 responses in favor of it.

I spoke to my casino guest host at the Rampart casino (attached to the Marriott hotel).  It is about 20 minutes west of the Las Vegas strip in Summerlin.

My thoughts are that everyone would probably arrive sometime Friday.   We can get an area reserved at the buffet around 5:30 or 6pm.  After dinner, there is a room called “The Summerlin Room” located in the casino.  We can use it at no charge after 7:15pm.   It is a small private room with a bar attached.   Then I thought since we will be a small group (we’re guessing 20-25), we can have a party at my house Saturday around 1pm.  It will be more relaxing and I have plenty of room.  Since it is June, you are welcome to bring a bathing suit as I have a pool.  I also have some fun stuff like a couple slot machines, pinball machine, frogger machine and a jukebox.  I'm just telling you this because I don’t want you to think of it as a boring house party.   There’s plenty of fun for all.  I’ll take care of all the food for that.

If we had gotten a response of 50 - 100 people interested, I would have looked into a banquet room and a band for Saturday, but it seems we will be too small of a group for that.

Here’s what I can get:

Regular price for rooms at the Marriott for that date are $212.00 per night plus resort fees and taxes, which would come out too about $257.00 per night.

I can get us $99.00 per night plus resort fees and taxes which comes out to about $160 - $165 per night.  The best way to do it is to attach all the rooms to my name under my player’s card.  It’s a better deal than going through the group desk.  Once we know who really is attending, I’ll attach the names to each room.  These prices are per room.  Some may bring spouses, some may room with another classmate.

The Friday night buffet is a prime rib dinner buffet and normally $31.99 .  My guest host is going to get us a few dollars off per person, not sure the exact amount yet..

If anyone is planning on staying for a while on Sunday, there is a really nice Brazilian steak house near the Rampart that has brunch for $30 per person.  It’s called Via Brazil.

I think this will be a lot of fun and a great time to reconnect and catch up on our lives no matter how few or how many plan on showing up.

I’ll need to know within a couple of weeks how many rooms we will need.  You can text, email or call Gary or call me for your room reservation.  Beth: 702-353-8546 bethtoy@mac.com.  Gary: 847 975-6372 gdaniels@askdata.net.

I’m really looking forward to this.  Hope you are too.

Beth (Bales) Toy”

Luther North Class of 1969 55-Year Reunion - CHICAGO.  Tentantive date 9/14/2024

The Reunion Committee met 2/16/2024 to get the ball rolling on our 55-year reunion.  We are looking for possible venues in Chicago for an inexpensive "pay-as-you-go" get-together where any food and drink are paid by attendees.  Depending on the type of deal we get and any donations received, there may be a cost to attend to cover expenses, such as room rental, server tips, etc.
