I earned my MA in Urban Affairs and PhD in Public Policy Analysis at Saint Louis University. Both degrees emphasized qualitative and quantitative research methods in business and the social sciences.
During and after earning my PhD, I served as Senior Manager of Research at the Research Division of Fleishman-Hillard International Communications. As Senior Manager, I directed quantitative and qualitative marketing, communications, media content analysis, and reputation research projects for both private and public sector organizations. My clients included: Dell Computers, Nortel Networks, Southwestern Bell, Pacific Bell, J.D. Edwards, Sun Microsystems, Wal-Mart, SmartMoney Magazine, the U.S. Mint, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, and the state of California. I acted as liaison with high-level corporate executives at every stage of the research process, and as the managing writer and editor of business proposals and reports produced to the highest professional standards.
In 2002, I left Fleishman-Hillard to join the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) as Director of Institutional Research and Assessment. While at Missouri S&T I implemented data mining, data gathering, and statistical analysis functions designed to guide efforts to evaluate and improve institutional reputation and marketing, enrollment management, student retention, administrative performance, and other activities critical to the success of Missouri S&T.
In 2006, I created GNMRC, LLC. Since its inception, GNMRC has provided research design, media analysis, program evaluation, data analysis, business system development, and writing services to universities, corporations, and non-profit social services organizations.
