Gilda Carter

To my fellow classmates, I am a graduate of Jackson State University with a B.S degree in Criminal Justice.I made a 90 degree turn and taught in the Jackson and Madison County school system for a total of 21 years, it was then that I decided to make a career move. I am currently in the Human Resource Dept. at City Hall for the city of Ridgeland. I have 1 son , his name is Desmon and he attended Holmes community College.

My funniest memory at East Marion High was when myself, Lillie Haynes, Gwen Abram, Linda Aikens( RIP), Eddie Smith and Ronnie (Chico) Brown skipped school one day and went to Columbia High school and got caught by their principal. This man actually asked us for our names so he could call East Marion and tell Mr.Oatis that some of his students was at his school skipping,well needless to say we all gave him fake names.
