After High School I attended Stephens College for an Associate BA and then to Northwestern for a degree in Education. When Kimberly went off to college I returned to Northwestern for a Masters Degree in Performance Studies.
I have loved my time working with others to bring a dream to reality with the creation of The Raue Center For The Arts - the old movie theatre.
Most of all I am so looking forward to hearing stories from classmates and their spouses or friends. What I love about getting together now is that questions are not "what do you do" but rather "how are you" focusing more on the beauty of the intangible and the blessings and even misfortunes one has experienced along life's way.
In this time of retirement-whatever that is-we enjoy our time on Captiva Island and especially time when our kids and Grandies are there. Seems only a blink away that we lived in Germany when Jim was in the Army and were fortunate to travel. Becoming a Grammy and a Papa has been a dream come true; we have four Grandies-Mya (6), Jimmy (4) Braelyn (2). . .Brett and Arlyn's children. . and Lukas (9 months) who is Kimberly and Eric's son. Our son Jason is marrying Elizabeth in September. What is amazing, I think, is that our kids and their spouses all went to Crystal Lake Central-what a school!

I had a huge crush on Jim Berg-because at first I believe Steffi King wanted to date him. Jim and I were both in Mr. Tarpley's Speech Class sitting one row away from each other-dreamy boy he was and I could only smile at him. When it was my turn (day 4) to give my speech on "How to Set a Pincurl" I was much too embarrassed (why I wonder when Jim's speech was on "How to Swing a Baseball Bat"). I went down to Miss Buser and said I had a class overload and MUST drop Speech. Well Jim did ask me out (succssful date-June 19th we celebrate 46 years of marriage). . making my Junior year of High School one of my favorite years in life. (I taught Speech at Central years later and because I was a "dropout" of speech class I always had a giggle within me remembering my story)
As I think back on our four years I can picture so many of you and hold many cherished memories.
