I started at The University of Alabama the summer after our high school graduation. The next summer I met Scott while I was back in Cullman. I went back to Tuscaloosa for one more year before we were married and I moved back home to start a family. When our first son was about a year old, I decided to go back to college and pursue a degree in nursing. I received my BSN from UAH and have worked at St. Vincent's Hospital and Wallace State College. While teaching nursing clinicals, I also served as Director of Children's Ministries at First United Methodist Church. During this time Scott and I had three more children....all boys....yes, that's right....four boys!
I took some time off to stay home with my children, before starting in 2004 as a school nurse at Cullman Middle School and now work at East Elememtary School. I love my job and love being at school with my two youngest boys. I have actually been able to work at the same school with all my boys at some time. I threatened to move to the high school this year with my oldest son to keep an eye on him his senior year, but he did not think that was such a good idea. I, on the other hand, remember some of the crazy things I did in high school and thought it was a great idea!
Actually, Tyler is a great kid and much more motivated and smarter than I ever was! He is very involved at CHS. He plays football and baseball. (Look for #11 Friday night at the game!) He is starting to make plans for college and it looks like he may also attend U fo A! Kind of scary! My other boys also play football and baseball, except for Nic, he loves football but hates baseball....he is my golfer! He plays football at CMS and Logan and Dawson play youth football for the Bearcats. We are always at a practice or game and stay on the go all the time! Life with all boys is a lot of fun but sometimes the testosterone is just too much!
(I will try to add photos later.)
I am really looking forward to seeing everyone!
I got caught with Katie Baasen and Leann Lamar trying to carry on Bearcat traditions before the Hanceville football game and had to stay all night cleaning up the campus.
