The heavens are brighter!!!
Six days ago I lost my hero, Ron Wiedner, aka. Brillo, Redondo Ron, or Ping Pong Ron. To me, he was Dad, and I was Son.
He loved adrenaline! From desert racing in Jawbone Canyon, rafting the mighty Kern river, jet skiing Redondo Beach, playing horseshoes, basketball, and softball, and we can't forget pool and ping pong. If you ever got the chance to play ping pong against him, you witnessed the most insane behind the back shots ever seen. If you played pool against him, your game would be over if you broke the rack too much. He would run the table and end it with a trick shot in the side pocket while he grinned and said Rack em!
He also loved live music, from classic rock to punk rock, and everything in between. My first concerts were Led Zepplin, Allman Brothers, and Fog Hat, seen from on top of his shoulders!
My dad was fearless, extreme, witty, charming, and had a great sense of humor. I will be forever grateful for all of the lessons he taught me in life and sport, and for helping to make me the man I am today.
I love you Dad. ❤️
