WHERE ARE THEY NOW

And Even More Fun!

We’ve had some assistance with our planning this year, and that has added to our celebration.  Jack Redmond and Dan VanCleve, along with Ron Dick & Janice Wilbricht Smith have added a couple of events on Thursday, and one on Friday, so here is the info for the celebrations.

Thursday, August 3, 2023

08:30 a.m. – “For anyone interested, we will meet at 8:30 am. On Thursday Aug 3rd at Kelly's Cafe out at the end of Rhomberg next to the Dairy Queen.  We will enjoy a time of Food, Fun, & Fellowship.  Please give me a call (563-590-8088) or respond to this if interested & I'll reserve a special room for our time together.  You can also email me @ jr.dshs1968@yahoo.com

Thank you all & looking forward to the entire weekend with you all.  Jack Redmond”

06:00 p.m. Dan VanCleve and Ron Dick feel that some of you may be out of shape and need some “reunion” practice.  So they sent me a little info on his first plan, “As we discussed would you add an announcement to the reunion web site. Letting everyone know that on Thursday night around six there will be a gathering at Gary Dolphin’s Ironman Bar for anyone who wishes to get together for a practice reunion, like me, getting into town early and need all the practice I can get.”  Everyone is invited to Dolph’s around 6:30. Don’t practice too much!

Friday, 12:00 noon at the Yardarm (out near where the old Riverside Bowl was).

Oye, oye, oye, all North enders and Fulton School grads (did anyone actually graduate from Fulton)?  You are hereby invited to join Dan VanCleve and Janice Wilbricht Smith for lunch at the Yardarm as a warmup to the picnic at Eagle Point later in the evening.  No reservations, no prepay, just show up and enjoy old times

Still Time to Register!!

PLEASE, register for the two pay events in advance.  It helps us plan and make certain adequate resources are available.  This year is more important than ever.  Before registering please note: if you are attending the Friday event at Eagle Point, AND DO NOT WANT THE MEAL or are BRINGING YOUR OWN MEAL, don’t register for that event.  Just join us and watch while we enjoy our wonderful, catered meal!

The registration page on our website is ready to go.  This year we will only be using the web-based registration.  It allows us to use credit cards and lets us know immediately who and how many are coming.  But never fear!  If you’re not comfortable with computers or web navigation, we’ll help.  Skip to the last paragraph in this section and call Wes.  Thanks for being patient while we move into the digital world!

If you are a member of our Class of 1968 (this) website, you can register with no problem by clicking on the “DSHS1968 Class of 1968 – 55th Reunion Registration” button on the left side, red navigation bar at the very top!  Click on it and it should be self-explanatory to get through the registration process.  If you haven’t joined, you can click on the “Classmate Profiles” button, find your name, and follow the instructions.  The only messages you’ll get are from us, no spam!

If you need help, just don’t want to join, or don’t have any experience with computers (the website should work on smart phones), you can email Wes at dshs1968@outlook.com or call him at 309  751   7776 and leave a message.  He’ll call you back and register you over the phone.

Can’t wait to see all you wonderful people again!

Some of you may remember our 35th Reunion aboard the American Lady.  We’re doing it again, only without the meal.  The American Lady has a Happy Hour Cruise offering Catfish Creek Brew Pub selections (when available), soft drinks and chicken tenders included in the price.  Mix drinks ae available, and Margaritas are 2 for 1!  Wander about the boat and exaggerate old tales with old friends with the majestic Mississippi as our backdrop.
