One day I had to call Germany to determine the eligibility of a deceased veteran for Masonic funeral rites. I called Berlin( said that the Masonic lodge was a English speaking lodge. So when I called the man that answered the phone spoke in German! I said “ specency English “, he replied no! All I could say was “ Donca shain” ( I’m sure the spelling is incorrect) That was my experience with Germany!! I conducted the service, giving the veteran Masonic burial rites anyway!!
