I married my high school sweetheart (and debate partner!), had a couple kids and have been painting all over the canvas of our lives - I retired from the US Air Force (avionics technician, training manager & recruiter), lived in Spain 10 years, did a few years as a Junior ROTC instructor, travelled in Malawi (Africa), lost our son in 2002, Peace Corps in Ukraine (2005-2007), battled breast cancer, served in AmeriCorps*VISTA in Santa Fe (2007-2010) - In 2009 walked (alone) the 1000 kilometer Camino from Roncevalles (near the French border) to Santiago de Compostela, Spain (about 500 miles). Read on my Camino blog: http://pilgrimageofgratitude-mycamino.blogspot.com.
My daughter and I "did" the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer (2 days/40 miles)in Fall 2010.
Currently back in sunny SC currently - finally putting down some roots I guess! Our daughter , son-in-law and two grandkids live good lives out in AZ. Life is good!
Are you on Facebook? I am! Look for me: Virginia J. Pulver. See you there maybe! 8-) Life is gooooood!
I remember sitting on my (then) boyfriend's lap up in the privacy of the light booth in the little theater - surprise: it is NOT a provate place. The whole cast of the current theater production ("Li'l Abner"), assembled on stage, gave Mark and me a round of hearty applause for our passionate and public kissing scene. Boy was my face red!
Hey - do any of you remember when several of us brought Dick Rohlfs Volkswagen Beetle into the lunch room as a genuine German artifact to decorate for the annual German Club party! What a resourceful bunch!
I'm sure there are lots of great stories to share...I hope YOU will post a few!
