Joe Gorman

Went to Catawba College in Salisbury, NC, graduating with an accounting degree. Played football and ran track all four years. Very active in school government and accounting club and was awarded with Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities my senior year.

Passed the CPA exam and completed MBA from Ga. College and State University.

Retired from SP Newsprint Co. after 29 years of service. Started in 1979 as the Accounting Manager and retired as the President and CEO. My last successful effort was to sale the company and then subsequently I retired. SP Newsprint was the 4th largest newsprint manufacturer in North America.

Currently serving as Chairman of the Board for St. Joseph's Hospital in Greensboro. Also, serving on the board for EBIZ Recycling Corporation.

I currently live in Reynolds Plantation where I either play golf or tennis. My wife, Sharon and I play alot of mixed doubles tennis and we have been club champions 4 different years. This is primarily due to the tennis skills of my wife......

Enjoyed my 12 years in the Oglethorpe school system....especially all the great classmates. Many stories.....many great memories!
