I studied Architecture at the University of Houston in Texas. Upon graduation was Commissioned in the US Army and served for 24 years as an Air Defense Artillery and Ordnance Corps Officer in various assignments including - Viet Nam (Da Nang, Quang Tri, Khe San, A Shau Valley, Chu Lai, Hue, & Dong Ha), W Germany (Schweinfurt & Neu Ulm), Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, Fort Bliss, Texas, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Madison, Wisconsin, and retired from military service at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama in 1992.
My specialities were missile and radar systems, nuclear weapons, and Operations Research Systems Analysis (ORSA). I completed a Masters Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California in 1980.
After the Army, I went to work in the Defense Industry program managing contracts for the US Army, Navy and Air Force with small businesses for 7 years which took me back to many of the places I served in the military.
In 1998 an opportunity came to take over control of a family manufacturing business in the UK which my wife and I took on for 8 wonderful years near Cambridge, England. As the CEO I was able to return this enterprise to profit and then market the company to allow the family to exit and retire from the business.
My wife Dollie and I returned to the US and Redstone Arsenal area in Alabama in 2005 and I worked for Raytheon Corporation managing programs for Patriot Missile Systems again and finally retired fully in May 2012.
I am now having fun watching our daughter and son raise their children. Dollie and I try to split our time with the 4 grandchildren split between Alabama and Colorado with many visits to the wonderful Florida Emerald Coast beaches.
