Mike was a great guy. I knew him from St. Mary's Church. He always had a smile and was very sensitive and caring.

Michael R. Kilby, 65, of Manchester, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Manchester Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Michael was born Nov. 3, 1944, in Hartford son of the late Elmer E. and Arleen (Cook) Kilby. He was employed for over 30 years for United Technologies Corp. until retiring due to his illness. Michael was a former member of the British American Club in Manchester and was an avid bowler and softball player.

He is survived by his sister, Arleen "Cookie" Kilby Cooper, and her husband, Chip Cooper, of Hampstead, N.C.
