Edward Ciarcia

Edward R. Ciarcia, 62 of Manchester, beloved husband of Connie (Wassmer) Ciarcia, died Tuesday (February 14, 2006) at his home. Born in New Britain, May 7, 1943, son of the late John and Virginia (Pzynski) Ciarcia, he was a resident of Manchester for the last fifty-five years. Edd proudly served in the US Navy as a submarine sonar technician during the Cuban Missile Crisis and had been employed at the former Southern New England Telephone Company for twenty-eight years. He was involved with numerous veterans groups, enjoyed photography, and was an all-around craftsman and builder.

Edward, beloved husband of Connie (Wassmer) Ciarcia, died Tuesday at his home. He was the son of the late John & Virginia (Pzynski) Ciarcia; he was a resident of Manchester for the last fifty-five years. Ed proudly served in the US Navy as a submarine sonar technician during the Cuban Missile Crisis & had been employed at the former Southern New England Telephone Company/SNETCO) for twenty-eight years. He was involved with numerous veterans groups, enjoyed photography, and was an all-around craftsman & builder. Ed loved to camp & fish & be outdoors with his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Pasini & her husband John; his son & daughter-in-law, Edward S. Babrich-Ciarcia and his wife Michaella; three grandchildren, Johnny, Derek & Bear; three brothers & three sisters, John Ciarcia, George Ciarcia, Robert Ciarcia and his wife Sherrill of Winsted, Lorene Peronace and her husband Don, Maryann Ciarcia and Cathy Pasler & her husband Gary; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

A memorial service was held Saturday Feb. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holmes Funeral Home, Manchester. Burial with military honors followed in the East Cemetery. Friends & family visited at the funeral home Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
