Poem by Jean Barnard

Poem by Jean Barnard Clemons

It was late in the spring of '62

We walked across the stage with all of you.

Expectations were great for the life we would lead.

Our parents advise we sometimes would heed.

The sky is the limit is what we were told.

The choices we make should always be bold.

Move forward with your goal in mind.

Be brave, be courteous, and always be kind.

Many had plans for what they would do.

Then there were others not having a clue.

Some joined the military and served with honor.

Some died in Viet Nam, a way over yonder.

Some went to college to earn a degree.

Some married and started a family.

We hope that whatever paths our classmates chose.

That along with them happiness and success always goes.

While it's hard to believe 50 years have passed since '62

Please remember those gone with a moment of silence too.

Let 's reminisce, tell stories, maybe even have a beer.

Try to talk to each and everyone here.

We are very glad to be here!! How about you??

Welcome, Have a great time class of 1962!!!
