Billy was my best friend in high school. He was a wonderful person. The thing I remember most about Billy was how he always greet you with a smile, and when he set his mind to do something nothing could stop him.I'm glad to see he was added to the site but sad to see it's in memory of him.I will never forget him and think of him often. He was the best friend you could ever have.I will always miss him.

Billy was one of the first people I met when I moved to Stanley and one of the best. He was an awesome friend, he was always there for you. If Billy was your friend you knew he would go to the end of the world for you. There was one time at the lake (think we were skipping) that Cindy, Gary and I were swimming across the cove and a couple of guys pulled up. They had their own ideas of what to do with the two girls in the lake, Billy quickly told them that we were theirs and they were gone before we even got to shore. Had he not been there and willing to tell a lie (we were all just friends), no telling what could have happend that day. He was our guardian angel.
His smile could light up the world. There has been many times since his death that I would have loved to see that smile and hear him tell me it will be alright.
Billy was not just a friend, he was a brother.

I met Billy when we were both working at JP Stevens. He wanted to play in a band and was saving to buy keyboards. Amen to Randy Rimmer’s observation that nothing could stop Billy. I gave him a couple of beginner piano books and one or two lessons and he did it. Next thing I knew he was playing in a band. John Barden (EG ’77) informed me a few years later that Billy had been accidentally shot. His determination and positive attitude were an inspiration. I didn’t know him long, but I think of him often.
