Thermos Johns became involved with our class during the filming of our 10-year reunion video/documentary in 1989.  He just happened to be up at East Gaston when Russell Randolph was there interviewing former teachers and coaches.  Thermos explained that he had been a big fan of our class.  He shared many of his fondest memories during his unforgettable on-camera interview. 

As fate would have it, Thermos was back on campus when Russell decided to re-visit EG for our 25th reunion.  Another video was created, and Thermos was funnier than ever.  However, his appearance had dramatically changed.  He explained to Russell that he had moved away to Gaffney, SC and taken a job picking peaches.  Unfortunately, he developed a bad habit of continuously sucking on the peaches and it messed his teeth and mouth up.
