Mack and I were friends since birth. Our dads were buddies through their childhood, Both our dads were named Richard, and both of our moms are Barbara. We were born just a month apart. From our dads' friendship our families remained friends all of these years. Mack and I grew up in church together, too. He was the first person through my door minutes after my Dad died this past June. I would never have imagined in less than a year he would join our dads for a much too early reunion. He was one of the "good guys." Rest in Peace my kind and loving friend.

Our parents met at First Presbyterian Church after we had graduated.  They became friends.  After Richard died, Mack and Barbara would come to all of our family Christmas and Birthday parties.  I went to see him in the hospital on the weekend of the 13th and he always kidded me about my driving because we took drivers ed class together.  So I took him a sign with a big yellow taxi on it that said "Beverly's Taxi Service" .  He told the Med Tech in the room, "I think I will walk home".

He was a good friend and special to all of my family.  He had just called my aunt and cousin on Friday before he went to the hospital on Saturday.

Rest in Peace, Mack.
