Lisiecki, Melanie

Omaha World-Herald: Web Edition Articles (NE) - Friday, May 15, 2015

Passed away on Saturday, April 11,2015 after a nearly yearlong struggle with cancer and pneumonia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University. Melanie had a long and varied career, but spent the most time working for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, and most recently as a manager in the Intermo-dal area in Customer Service at the Union Pacific Railroad. Her knowledge of railroad operations made her a real resource to her company and its customers. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, James Lisiecki; her parents, Norman F. and Herdis (Kitt) Ellliott; her brother Douglas Elliott; all of her grandparents, and her aunt Gunver (Gwen) Berg. Upon marrying James Lisiecki, she acquired a family she greatly treasured, sister-in-law, Antoinette Johnson (Jerold); stepson, Joseph (Dawn); stepdaughters, Theresa Szczublewski (Christopher) and Denise; many cousins; granddaughter, Harleah Bergeron (Brandon); great grandchildren, Raelyn, Jaiden and Talia; Marty and Peggy Petersen, who showed us the true meaning of friendship by assisting her tirelessly during her illness; her uncle Tony Berg; and her cousins Janiece Scott, and Steve Berg; and her longtime friend, Evangelina Miller. And along with her husband Jim, she had too many wonderful friends to count — all of whom were deeply loved and cherished. VISITATION is from 9-10 am and the FUNERAL will begin at 10 am on May 16th, all at Maher-Livingston Funeral Home.
