I've been with my husband for almost 24 years. We both work in Special Education at the high school level, and we have 5 beautiful children.God has been very good to us! The high desert of California (Antelope Valley) is beautiful and offers a haven for us as we raise our children. I finished chemo for breast cancer two years ago in June, and I refuse to have it ever again! I love being a wife and mommy, but dang it, I want grandbabies! I get to be Godmother to my many "at-risk" students who have become parents before receiving their diplomas. In the last three years, I have lost 5 students to gang violence, but their deaths have led many to Christ. I teach so kids will ask me privately about Him...who could ask for more?

A bittersweet one: When my mother died in 1976, all my school friends, even those I barely knew, were there at the funeral. Being an Air Force brat, starting school in the middle of the seventh grade, I'd never felt like part of a community for very long. Having my friends there was so important to me. I tried so hard to be invisible, especially when she was so sick and in the hospital out of state, but you were there.
