In Memory

Patricia Bohlin (Jackson)

PHS Class of 1968

It is with a heavy heart that I am putting this on our website:

Patricia A. Jackson of Hopewell, Junction, NY passed away on February 18, 2011 after a long struggle with leukemia.
She was born on Groundhog Day, February 2, 1950 in Peekskill, NY and was one of five children born to Helgie and Mary Bohlin. Patricia married the love of her life, Walter “Bud” Jackson on July 18, 1970 and together they raised their only son, Matthew.
Patricia enjoyed life’s simple pleasures to the fullest. She looked forward to yearly vacations with her family to Ocean City, MD, where she would take long walks on the beach, enjoy the ocean breeze from the balcony with her husband, and eat as many blue crabs as possible. Morning was her favorite time of the day. She loved to watch the sunrise, drink her coffee, read the paper, and listen to the birds outside her window. She would often say with a smile, “If you miss the morning, you might as well stay in bed.” An avid fan of music from the 50s and 60s, Patricia loved seeing the live “oldies” shows at the theatre in Peekskill with her husband and brother. She loved her animals with all her heart, especially her loyal golden retriever, Rusty, who stayed by her side and comforted her through her illness. Patricia will be remembered most for her faith in the Lord and for her simple gestures of love. Her greatest joy was surprising the people she cared for with thoughtful cards, poems, and gifts. She will be missed and loved always by her husband Bud, son Matthew, daughter-in-law Katherine, sister Pam, brother Tom, and everyone who has been touched by her kindness.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 21st from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the E.O. CURRY FUNERAL HOME, 313 N. James Street, Peekskill. Funeral Services will be held 11 am, Tuesday, February 22nd at the Peekskill United Methodist Church, Main Street, Peekskill, followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. For online condolences or directions, please visit: www.eocurryfuneralhome.com

Pat was a truly wonderful person.  So kind hearted and caring.  She always treated people the way everyone deserves to be treated.  It was an honor to know her and be her friend.  Rest in Peace.  I will miss you.  Betsy Rodino
