Patty,
i read your response and thanks. We also have much in common.

I married my high school honey Betty Fellheimer...going on 47 years!

I also lost a loved one under tragic circumstances...my son at the age of three.

Betty and I dote on my THREE grandchildren...and weenjoy travelling!

Say hello to Joe...I remember him from TA...perhaps he remembers me!

Patty,

I was never close with Roy but friendly with him at Allderdice.  When I leaned of his passing many years ago, I remember being proud to have known him and in a sense upset I did not serve our country as he did.  And I never knew of the relationship between you and Roy.

All I can say is thanks to him and the best to you.  And one thing I always do and have done is proudly stand for the national anthem whenever the opportunity in appreciation of all those who served.  

Without getting too political, it is the one way I can thank all those who have defended the flag and ultimately me...which is contrary to Colin Kaepernick who has no idea why he should be grateful to live in this great country.  It is people like Roy who make that possible!
