What I remember most about Mike was his hair-I guess from being in swimming/water polo. It was kind of a different color, not really blonde, but not really white, with kind of a green-ish hue. It must have been from the chlorine. I do remember him as a nice guy, very outgoing with sparkling blue eyes. He was active in ASB and I remember he was very smart! God Bless you Mike and may you rest in peace. Cathy Hougan

I swam with Mike and his hair WAS tainted by the USD water! We were good friends at UNI. I found out he passed away when I logged onto this site. Too bad. I remember talking to him at length at the 10 year reunion and was amazed by his drive and the plans he had made. I look forward to sharing good memories with everyone else.

I first met Mike in 6th grade when his family moved in two doors down from us. He was very intelligent and very driven and always had a positive attitude. I'll never forget his memorial service - lots of old Uni and All Hallows people there. Fr. Foley was the celebrant.

Mike was involved with swimming and water polo for all 4 years at Uni, as I recall. He wasn't a very big guy, but he was tough in the water. You water polo players know there is a whole underwater game that goes on that most people don't know about. I remember the water polo team taking on the football players. The football players were humbled by the experience! Small guys like Mike really took it to them. I was sad to hear of his passing a few years back, but amazed at all of his accomplishments.

Mike and I were on the Math Team at All Hallows, as was Greg Achatz. I got a letter from him after we got out of High School, but never returned it. How I wish now that I had gotten back to him.

I though I heard that he was murdered in some foreign country. Does anyone know the facts about his death? I'd like to know more about his life after High School, and about the details of his death.
