Comments:

I left Santa Maria in 1984. Lived in South Carolina for 4 years where I married my husband, Ed and had 2 sons. We moved to Denver in 1988. Ed grew up in Denver and wanted to raise our boys here. We've had a great life of skiing, boating, golf, camping, hiking, biking and being involved in our boys sports and school activities.

Devin graduated from the University of Colorado where he played football and obtained a degree in Economics. He was recruited for heavy weight boxing right out of college. He moved to Venice Beach, CA for 4 months. He loved the program and training and California beach life, but after two nose surgeries, he was done. He then played poker for a year. Made it pretty far at the World Poker Tour...but still no money. He is now a commodities trader in Denver and a Cross Fit competitor.

Brent graduated from Colorado State University in Graphic Design. He is a 3D Graphic Designer for a company in Monument, CO. He purchased his first home and lives there with his girlfriend, Bri and their dog "Gus".

I've had a very diverse work career! I worked at Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Swift Airlines in Santa Maria. Then NCR and Eastern Airlines (based in NY and Atlanta) when in South Carolina. In Denver, I had my own day care business until the boys were 9 and 10. Then I worked for a trade show company for 10 years supporting and traveling to 6 shows a year. I hung up my corporate hat and semi retired at a veterinary hospital. Last year I jumped on the social security bandwagon! I love it! My husband is in management with a financial company.

I stilll have the 57 T-Bird! Had it shipped to Denver. Whenever I'm in Santa Maria, I try to see old friends and spend some time at Avila Beach! Lots of good memories.

Ed and I travel as much as we can. In the last two years we've been to France, England, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Our travel list is ever growing! !

Cindy,

Rich and I are so sorry about Laura's passing.  She was a beautiful woman, inside and out. I was fortunate to reconnect with her a few years ago on this Website that Sherry created for us.  We had a couple of real nice conversations.  She certainly had a zest for life.  She touched many lives and will be missed.  Please say hi to your sister Joni for us.

Rich stayed in touch with your parents until they passed.  Mom and I also stopped to see them once or twice, also, when we drove down to see Rich in Placerville. The 3 of us have many fond memories of all of you Colemans.

I don't know if your husband, John, remembers me, but I remember him from junior high and high school.  Please tell him hi for me, also.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. Small world...Dorothy filled my father's position at Boeing when he retired. We ended up communicating a bit because of this. She also passed on in the town I was born in. Amazing connections!  She was in some of my business classes and I always enjoyed her personality.  She will be missed by many.  Laura Coleman Shanahan

Hi Greg, So sorry to hear about your recent cancer scare. It is a disease that can happen to anyone. I have so many friends and family members that have made it through the medical journey with remarkable success. I wish you the best. Laura Coleman Shanahan

Hi! OMG...so GOOD to hear from you! Thanks for the birthday wish and filling me in on the Engwer's! Sounds like you keep very busy and everyone is is doing well. So great to hear. Your Mom was an amazing lady back when I knew her! She took me hunting for my first time. She has always known how to enjoy life and it sounds like you do too. Apple didn't fall from the tree!! It was amazing that Rich kept in contact with my parents for their entire lives. He's a great guy, glad he's doing good! You all certainly live in some cold areas! I must admit, I'm not all that crazy about freezing my you
know what off. I gave up skiing for just that reason two years ago! Denver does provide a pretty mild winter climate, but I still never look forward to winter!! Love to mountain bike, hike, golf and just about any sport! We try to travel as much as we can. We went to Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam for our last "big" trip. Amazing area. We always get out of the cold for a week for two in the winter. Last year we went to Costa Rica. Retirement is great isn't it! I only work two days a week and then help my mother-in-law with her interior design business (custom window treatments, pillows, etc) as needed. We did 5 large developments of model homes this last summer. My boys (well young men) are both great and live fairly close to us. Devin's girlfriend lives in Calgary. They are working on her moving here. Brent has had a steady girlfriend for a couple years now. Maybe weddings in the next years. We'll be going to Santa Maria next June for Joni's daughter's wedding. My sisters and I went to Hawaii a couple summers ago. We try to celebrate one of our 10 year "marker" birthdays together. We've had some memorable times! More "memorable" in our younger years!! haha Would love to hear from you every now and then. If you ever come through Denver, please look me up! How far is Athol from Cour De'Lane (sp?). I have a friend that lives there that I may go visit some time! Take care, Laura
