I moved to Springfield, Vt.in 1957. Thus I did not get to know some of my classmates very well. Helene Jeffrey(Kimball) was my Maid of Honor when I got married 6/18/60.

I retired from Springfield, Vt. Hospital in 2002, after starting to work there in Nov. 1959.
I haven't done much since I retired. We have a 13 year old dog. She has arthritis. We have her on medicine, She has a hard time trying to stand up. She is smart though! She remembers every trick I taught her 12 years ago ! I volunteered at the Senior Center in Claremont for a number of years. Now, I just try to help out for my Retiree luncheon from the Hosp. once a month and bake and decorate for our Classmate Breakfast , which we have monthly.

Helene, Betty L. and I went to nurses' training in Bennington, Vt. I'll never forget the time Helene and I went to the drive-in movies with our boyfriends and we all fell asleep and were past our curfew. I was so scared because we had to sneak in and get to our rooms without being seen. We made it but made sure we were never in that situation again!

I lived in Long Island until I moved to Springfield, Vt. in my Junior Year in High School. That was a breeze, because everything they were teaching, I had already learned at Huntington High School in L.I.

I came to Springfield in 1957. I lived with my Adopted parents in Long Island , N.Y. My Sister , Betty, was adopted with me. My Mother lived in Springfield, Vt. with my Step-Father, but always kept in touch with us. My Brother ,Edwin, was living in a Boys' Home until he was 18 , and then came to Springfield when he was 18. He came to take me to Springfield to be with my Mother. That was it. I went to Springfield High School some of 1957 and graduated in 1958 with all of you ! My Siblings and all my family are gone now and I miss them all ! I have been married for 54 years in June, and have a wonderful Husband and Son. I know what a "broken " home is and always told myself that my children would not go through that. My Daughter-in-law died of Cancer in 2011. They were married 18 years when she passed. We have no grandchildren, but we have our Angel dog and grand dogs. One of our Grand dogs just left us for the Rainbow Bridge. He is missed. Our Angel is aging more quickly now , and it will be a rough road when she leaves us. We are so proud of our son, Denny. He has been our Rock. Thank you for listening ! Joan xo

i RETIRED IN 2002 .I haven't accomplished very much. Many Doctors' appts. for both of us. We both suffer pain,especially from Osteoarthritis.. Will write more later !

Hello ! It has been a tough retirement .

Den has diabetes and he has dementia. It's difficult because his memory is very short. He has 2 bulging discs and severe arthritis, so he is in pain frequently and doesn't want to exercise. I have hypertension which no med can help . I have cataracts done in Sept. I see a Lung D
and. appointment soon. I just got over a bleeding gastric ulcer.

But we hang in there. Young Denny has a girlfriend now , so his life should have some good changes. We have no grandchildren and all my relatives have passed.
