GRACE HARIKLEA (ZAVRAS) DANNES—LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, YIAYIA, AND GREAT YIAYIA

Grace was born on August 31, 1933 to Evans and Kathryn (Papanicholas) Zavras in Stamford, CT and died on May 3, 2022. She graduated from Stamford High School and attended college for two years. Grace and Dennie Dannes were married on June 12, 1955. She was a loving, supportive, and devoted wife, mother, yiayia, and sister. Her family and faith were the focus of her life. Grace and Dennie enjoyed 49 years together, especially in their retirement. She was the loving mother of Denise Dorozenski (Father Stratton), loving Yiayia of Tia L’Hommedieu (Timothy Ross) and Stacey Katsaros (Andreas), great Yiayia to Charles Steve Katsaros, Zoe Sophia Katsaros, Walter William L’Hommedieu and Nina Violet L’Hommedieu, and the best sister to Diane Zavras Dudar. Grace enjoyed many years working in the insurance industry. Until her final days, she lovingly remembered her teenage years as the organist at the Archangels Greek Orthodox Church in Stamford, CT, and she shared that joy with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Saint Nicholas Church and Philoptochos Society. Her later years were filled with the joy and love of her great grandchildren. We would like to offer our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the administration and staff at the Wellbridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Rochester Hills for the outstanding care and love they provided to Grace over the years.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 8 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with the Trisagion Service at 12:30 p.m. at the A.J. Desmond and Sons, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, MI. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. preceded by the visitation at 9:00 a.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 500 Belmonte Park N. Dayton, OH.

Memorial tributes may be made to the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Troy, MI or the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Dayton, OH.

May her memory be eternal!
