Edward James Esposito passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10th.
A lifelong resident of Stamford, CT, Edward James was born January 11, 1933 in Stamford, CT, the only child of the late Matthew and Mary Esposito. He was a 1951 Stamford High School graduate and went on to study at Pratt Institute before marrying Marilyn Norman of Stamford in 1956. Together they raised five children.
Ed has committed his life to family and community service; from a volunteer softball coach, a swim team counter for years of swim meets, an EMT driver with Stamford Ambulance Corp., and 40 years of service in the Coast Guard Auxiliary as one of the original Quality Examiners; then rising to the rank of Commander of Division 7.
Ed was an extremely talented artist who loved to gift family and friends with his beautiful paintings. He showed his love of the water through his many paintings as well as his service to the Coast Guard.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Elaine Brown of Monroe, CT; and four sons: Richard Esposito of Dallas, TX, Edward M. Esposito of Stamford, CT, David Esposito, and his wife, Dr. Darlene Esposito of Strasburg, PA, and Michael Esposito, and his wife, Allison of Wilmington, NC. His five grandchildren: Brandon, Ryan and Collin Brown of Monroe, CT and Madison and Katarina Esposito of Wilmington, NC.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 3 to 7pm. A funeral service will take place at St. Leo Parish, 24 Roxbury Rd., Stamford on Monday, May 16th at 11 am with interment to follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rock Rimmon Rd., Stamford.

We extend our condolences to the Esposito family. I remember Rick, Ed, and David from Troop 1 BSA. In fact, I was told that their dad was the one to design a beautiful 6'x4' Fiberglass Eagle Scout Emblem for decoration at the Eagle ceremonies. May these good memories comfort you in this time of sadness.
