Sorry I can’t attend the reunion but my sister, Jane Holt Recasens (Class of 1953) and I are currently taking care of our hospitalized older sister, Beverly Holt Klein (Class of 1949) and our 100 year old mother. As far as my interests are concerned, other than watching over my husband, our four children and our four grandchildren, all of whom living within 140 miles of us, I love to root for my beloved University of Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball teams. Though each home game is 150 miles away, I have only missed two Iowa home football games in the last thirty years! I also like to work in my yard and my flower gardens and I watch lots of TV. I have even learned two or three things since our graduation 55 years ago: (1) not all snobs from our past hated rivals at Greenwich High are unbearable (I’ve been married to one of those misfits for 51 years and can testify that “slob” is more on target than “snob”!) (2) There is life west of the Hudson River. It’s rather relaxing and enjoyable being a Midwestern “hick”! (3) Automobile drivers in the Stamford-Darien-Norwalk area are certainly ruder, more in a hurry and much more wild than we laid-back Midwesterners. I hope that your remaining years will be pleasant ones! All my best to each of you.
