JOAN E. SMITH, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010. She was 77. Born November 21, 1932 in Stamford, Joan was employed by the State of Connecticut and worked at the Stamford Superior Court as an assistant clerk for over 25 years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting for everyone including family, friends and many charities. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Smith of Stamford, three sisters Eleanor Stoni and her husband Pat of Darien, Linda Isentol of Stamford and Lorraine Taylor of Norwalk, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Hughes, her brother Edward Taylor and her ex husband Joseph Smith.
