MARION C. (BOCHICCHIO) PLESCIA passed away peacefully at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, Sunday, August 2nd after a courageous battle with lung disease. She was 75 years old. Born in Stamford in 1934 to Mary and Joseph Bochicchio, Marion graduated from Stamford High School in 1951 and worked as a dental assistant in Stamford for Dr. Norman Soloff, where she later met her husband Fred Plescia. In 1968, after purchasing a house in Monroe, Marion, Fred and their two sons moved there. She continued to live in that house until her death. She and Fred also ran a dental laboratory business there for 25 years. In 1986, Marion opened a printing company in Southbury and ran it until 1997 at which time she sold it to her son, Frederick. After the sale, she continued as the CFO of the company until 2003 when she retired. Marion was a loving mother and dedicated parent who dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She loved flowers and she was passionate about her flower gardens and house plants. Marion loved to give advice and express her opinion and probably missed her true calling as a teacher. She loved to cook and bake and always had food on the stove or cookies in the oven whenever she was expecting company. She had a genuine love for all the people she met and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Marion was always a lady and conducted herself with a certain flair. Even in her final days when you would go to visit her she would put on her best smile and never let you know exactly how uncomfortable she was. Marion is survived by her sons, Frederick Jr. and Joseph; their wives, Patricia and Bernadette; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Karianne, Alexander, Joseph, Vincenzo and Maxavier, all of Monroe; and her sister, Donna Ramsdell of Salem, N.H. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Bochicchio, Jr. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 15th at 10 a.m. at St. Jude Church, Route 111, Monroe. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anthony Katz Fund, 22 Purdy Hill Road, Monroe, CT 06468.
