John Francis Stockla, Jr. "Jack", age 82, of Berea, Kentucky entered into rest on July 2, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He is the devoted husband of 59 years to Dorothy (Bisset) Stockla. He was born in Edwardsville, PA on June 24, 1934, son of the late Irene and John F. Stockla, Sr. John lived his early years in Stamford, moving to Shelton to raised his family from 1975 to 1998, before retiring to Berea, Kentucky. Jack was employed for over 40 years as an Shop Manager with the Flygt Corporation before his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Jack was an avid UCONN Men's and Women's Basketball fan and he loved to garden. He was predeceased by two sons John F. Stockla III and Jim Stock. Besides his wife, Jack is survived by his beloved son Jeff Stockla and his wife Karen and loving daughters Jeanne Ellice and her partner John and Jennifer Green and her husband Lee and loving grandchildren Amanda and John Stockla, Ryan and Taylor Stockla and Abby Quinn. Jack's memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Burial with full military honors will follow in Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet his family from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
