Barbara Carmela Sobbell, a resident of Stamford (and most recently Shelton), CT, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2017 at her home in Shelton, CT. She was 84 years old. Barbara was born on May 9, 1933 in Stamford, Connecticut, and is the wife of the late Joseph Sobbell, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Mary Moavero (formerly Mary Rotante), and the sibling to Carol Pagliaro and Charles Moavero.
Barbara was last employed by Stamford Anesthesiology prior to retiring and moving to Shelton. She then proudly volunteered in the office of, and aiding her son Michael as he started his business Autism on the Seas.
She is survived by her son Michael Sobbell, daughter in law Karen Sobbell, and her two grandchildren Samantha Sobbell and Justin Sobbell, all of Shelton, CT. She is also survived by her sister's children and their respective families, Judy Pagliaro and Karen Mohammadi, both Florida residents, and dear cousin Maryann North-Farrell of CT.
Barbara cherished her life with her husband Joe, and being an integral part of her son's family, especially her two grandchildren, Justin and Samantha, who meant the world to her. She loved sharing another love with them; the New York Yankees and the Miami Dolphins.
Family and Friends may call at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave, Stamford CT on Saturday Dec. 30, 2017 from 9:00-10:00 a.m., followed by a mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church on Schuyler Ave. Interment to follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT.
