Jones Senior High School
Class Of 1988
Audrea Harris
Graduated in 90' with an Associates Degree in Computer Science. Shortly after graduating, I moved to Greensboro, Charlotte, and High Point for a brief time in the early 90's. I relocated back to Raleigh in 95' to find my happiness and peace (Home to Me). I am now working in the RTP area at a small company. I have been working at this location for almost three years.
Spirit Week was an exciting time for me! The Senior Athletes were recognized and Twin Day was a part of the week long event. Our entire Class dressed in our Class of 88' shirts that day and blew away our competition of Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmens... I also had great memories of Prom Weekend at Emerald Isle and our Senior Trip to Kings Dominion!
I learned valuable life lessons in our gymnasium! It was there - while on a path to win a School Title - I learned responsibility, how to be a team player, leadership skills, and how to work together to accomplish goals!
The Lady Trojans placed a one dollar bill in our shoes for good luck before each game. The cheerleaders started the Madness in the gymnasium as we huddled together inside the locker room to discuss strategies and later to recite the Lord's Prayer. Screams, applauds, and grade school laughter were noises heard just beyond the wooden door, as we lined up in unison to enter our Home Court.
JOOOONES! SENIORRRR!! EXXXPRESS!!! was shouted as we swiftly ran past the cheerleaders and bleachers filled with fans in our Team uniforms to begin performing our warm-up drills.
It was a Natural High to be ushered into a gym twice a week filled with support, love, your family, friends and classmates eagerly waiting to cheer you to Victory!
We didn't win the 1A Championship Title but it was obvious and celebrated that our team had character!
Good Stuff and that I wouldn't trade for the world! To my teammates and coach (Also) What a Privilege and an Honor!
