High School certainly seems a distant memory. For that matter, the town of Vicksburg even seems foreign on the rare occasion I get back there for a visit. But there are certainly things I miss.
After High School, I went to Ole Miss and earned my BA in Journalism. Spent most of that time rooming with fellow Viking, Mike Keen ("MSK1"). After college, I stayed a little over a year in Oxford writing for a small trade magazine. In 1994, I married a Carolina girl, Bonnie Bishop and a year later we moved to Austin, Texas.
In Austin, I went to work for Golfsmith International designing, editing and managing the company's golf clubmaking titles. Eventually left behind the designing and editing duties as the company grew, and became the director of operations managing the production flow of the marketing department.
In late 2012 I left Golfsmith and joined Bonnie with the PR firm she began in 2004. We've since renamed the company Reputation Lighthouse, and concentrate on corporate communications planning for companies looking to promote their particular points of leadership in order to build or protect their reputation.
Bonnie and I have two wonderful boys that fill virtually all of our free time. Landry is well on his way to being taller than his dad. He's a 6-foot seventh graders (2013-2014), but for the first time is not the tallest kid in his class. He's a late bloomer, so he could very well reclaim title in the near future. Several years ago I wrote that Hogan was well on his way to learning the meaning of 'concussion.' This past spring (2014) on our ski trip in Colorado he ran into a tree and has a full grasp of that term. He missed virtually all of his soccer season (only played in the final regular season game and post-season tournaments).
