Jeanette Barkhausen Roncke

After being a flight attendant since 1972 I retired October 1st, 2021. Covid helped me make the big decision. I attended UWM for two years and then applied to TWA. I was hired and worked for them until they were bought by American in 2000. I always wanted this career and I loved every minute of it. Now retired and loving that too.
I have also been married since 1975 (I guess I don't like change!!). Mike and I have two beautiful daughters, a great son-in-law, 3 sweet granddaughters and a grandson.
We love to travel and see the world, but enjoy our 5 acres in Rockton Illinois when home.

When my guidance counselor asked me what I wanted to do after graduation I informed her I wanted to be a Stewardess. She informed me that that was what every girl dreamed of and that I should be more practical and study for a career as a teacher or a nurse. Nothing against teachers or nurses, but I fullfilled my dream and just wish she could know that.
