December "I've Got a Secret"

Who am I and what’s my secret?
In 1976 I joined the northern leg of the Bicentennial Wagon Train, riding my horse from Ft. Atkinson to State Fair Park. Six days of riding,30-40 miles/day,camping at a park or fairgrounds each night. Some smaller towns set out lunch spreads for the riders. Our last rest stop before West Allis was at what was then the Lake Geneva Playboy Club. They put us downwind!

Answer: Jayne Bachmann Larson

January "I've Got a Secret"

   * On September 10,1976 I took flight 355 from New York's LaGuardia airport to Chicago O'Hare. The plane made stops in Montreal Canada, Gander Newfoundland and Keflavik Iceland before landing in Paris France where we were surrounded by French police. Two days later on September 12, 1976 I made it to my planned destination. There I was greeted by the FBI. Who am I and what is my secret?

A partial answer was provided to the January "I've Got a Secret" question, but we are looking for a name of the classmate. Anybody know who it is?
Below is the partial answer:

You were a passenger on TWA flight 355 that was hyjacked by Croatian Freedom fighters. As your plane was a medium range jet, It required refueling stops on the trip to Parris. Frence police picked iof the hyjackers and TWA flew people back to the USA. On arrival at Chicago, the FBI debriefed and processed the passengers and crew. The practice of CIA or FBI debriefing was not unusual' various news correspondents returning from overseas assignments (even Walter Cronkite) sat down to discuss aspects of their trip. Walter was the last of a special news breed and sure loved his sailboat! Jack Mueller
You are Jeanette Barkhausen Roncke, and you were a flight attendant on that TWA flight. So glad it ended with your safe return. Beth Wells

March "I've Gor A Secret"

I told my family that I had been invited on a mission trip to Sudan and another adventure in Africa. My son and 2 son-in-laws, sitting on the sofa, turned their heads in unison and said, “Mom! You can do this!" I was surprised. I had never done anything quite like this before. My teammates and I served in Sudan for about 2 weeks and then we made it to the top! Who am I and what is my secret?

December "Trivia" answer

The Milwaukee Sanitorium was the name of the "special" building that was on Dewey Hill overlooking the village of Wauwatosa. Currently called Aurora Psychiatric Hospital.

March 2021 Trivia Question

Name the ice cream stand that was on North Ave between N. Lefeber and N. 72nd during our high school years. When did it close  and what kind of business took that location?

The ice cream place on North ave between N. Lefeber and N. 72nd was Berries. Sorry, I don't  know when it closed or what kind of business took that location. LOL, thought maybe someone might know that extra information.

April 2021 Trivia Question

Let's  get more people trying this. A LOT of you must know this answer.

What fun place was on Bluemound. It would be packed on Friday and Saturday nights. High school groups would hang out there for something soft, cold, and creamy. Apparently it has been around for over 80 years. Established in 1838.

Please take our "How many are coming?" survey

We have 153 registered classmates on our reunion site and half have indicated if they are or aren't coming or maybe thinking about it. This survey gives the committee valuable insight to everyone's committment to our reunion and dictate important decisions we have to make.  Please go to it and provide your thoughts.  We know it is hard to commit in these uncertain times, but the committee needs to know what our classmates are thinking.  You can always change your answer if you choose and your name will not be posted.

Thank you from the committee!!

We have quite a few missing classmates.  If you have any contact information on anyone on the list please tell them to share their whereabouts with us.  Thank you,

The Reunion Committee:  Jeanette Barkhausen Roncke, Joanne Koepke Owen, Mary Harpt Banker, Jayne Bachman Larson, Judy Peters Bosley, Scott Sperry, and in memoriam,  Barb Haydon Avallone.
