Robert Landon Nussbaumer

Bob Nussbaumer (June 22, 1941 - January 21, 2024)

                

 

 

                   

 

 

Robert Landon Nussbaumer passed away on January 21, 2024. Bob was predeceased by his parents Edward Nussbaumer, Jr. and Josephine Eck Nussbaumer, and his brother Edward A. Nussbaumer. Bob was a sole legal practitioner for approximately 40 years in the courts of Missouri and Illinois. He specialized in insurance defense, including trial and appellate work.

He received his B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1963, his M.A. from Johns Hopkins SAIS in 1966, and his J.D. from the University of Missouri 1970.

He was admitted to the Missouri Bar; Illinois Bar; U.S. District Court, Eastern, and Western District of Missouri; U.S. District Court, Southern District of Illinois; U.S. Court of Appeals, 7th and 8th Circuits; and the U.S. Supreme Court. Bob was a member of the Missouri Bar, Illinois State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Lawyers Association of St. Louis, and the Missouri Organization of Defense Council.

He lectured on behalf of the Continuing Legal Education Department of the University of Missouri School of Law in areas of tort, litigation, jury instructions, and civil proceeds. He was also a member of the Missouri Athletic Club and Civil War Round Table. He was a supporter of Joni Eareckson Tada for many years, helping to provide assistance for the disabled. He attended Covenant Presbyterian Church in St. Louis County. He will be sorely missed by many friends and loyal neighbors.

Visitation was at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Kutis Funeral Home's Affton Chapel, located at  10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis; it   was followed by a memorial service at noon.

Bob is buried at Sunset Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 10180 Gravois Road, Affton, MO.
