As Mr. Grandy might have guessed (remember him, Creative Writing teacher?) I've been writing. Yup, for twenty years. Small successes here and there, a short story won an OSU competition and the judges touted me as the next Edgar Allen Poe. I think they were desperately struggling for something nice to say. I'm no Poe. (Although the story was horror with a twist ending...and Poe is known for that.)
In 2008, I secured a 3-book deal with major New York Publisher--Simon and Schuster's imprint Pocket Books! My novel VICIOUS CIRCLE will be released from Juno/Pocket books in July 2009. The second installment HALLOWED CIRCLE was released in January 2010. The third book, FATAL CIRCLE, was released in July of 2010.
A fourth contract brought ARCANE CIRCLE to bookstores in December 2010. I secured the services of the prominent NYC Literary Agent Donald Maass, who negotiated a contract for the 5th and 6th installments of the series, WICKED CIRCLE (Dec. 2011) and SHATTERED CIRCLE (January 2013).
Aside from that, I've gone to college (yay for the Associate of English Degree), been an Art Director for a realty company, an Assistant to Sales for a builder, and then a Realtor--but the latter occurred during bad market timing. I've lived in Illinois (Waukegan) and California (Vallejo, Alameda, San Diego), spent four years in Medina, but I recently bought my childhood home in Mansfield and reside there.
My band CORSAIR (we were the Thursday night house band at the Party House in 1987-8; the name means pirate in Spanish--proof I was into pirates LONG before Johnny Depp made them cool) had a reunion in November 2009, and we played among several other bands in a reunion line-up. Though my girl-hands are small, I /can/ rock out on both 6 and 7-string guitars. I'm still composing, too.
I have 4 awesome boys, and a big dog named Bela, who can be found sleeping wherever I am in the house.
