Cathy was my Maid of Honor in 1978, we stayed in touch for several years.  I never met her husband.  After she'd been married a few months she lived with us for about 5 months.  Then one day she moved out saying she was going back to him.  Never explained.  I didn't hear from her again, until the early 1990s.  She left a message at with my mom.  She never answered when I tried , many attempts, to call her back.  She was my best friend and, as Melody wrote, I have missed her all my life.
