After graduating from AHS, I went to Carolina and received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering in 1962. I was in Air Force ROTC, and I was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant at graduation. I stayed at Carolina until 1964 when I received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering. Before entering the Air Force, I worked for NASA in Hampton, VA for 6 months. In January, 1965, I entered active duty in the Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant. I was stationed in Sacramento, CA. I really liked it out there. In January, 1968, I entered graduate school at Georgia Tech and received the Ph.D. degree in 1972. I have been teaching electrical engineering at Georgia Tech since then.

I think the most fun I had at AHS was in the Dramatics Club. For one of our annual pictures, we had a mock "shotgun wedding." I was the "groom" and Marie Nance was the "bride." I had no idea what a shotgun wedding was and had to be told before the picture was made. We were the first class in a long time who didn't have a senior play, probably because Neil Bonds left before our senior year. That caused us to miss lots of fun. Neil is now retired and living in Marietta, GA.
