My family moved from Abbeville at the end of my junior year. I graduated from Winder Barrow High School in Winder, GA. After graduation, I worked at Smith Ginn and Seed Company in the office. I married Ottis Smith and was a stay at home mother. I was involved in community, school, and church activities. My husband retired 10 years ago from Scientific Atlanta. We spend as much time at our condo on the Gulf Coast as possible. I like to travel, read, and volunteer for community activities.

Every month when I open my Readers Digest and turn to the Word Power page, I think of Miss Burrell's English Class. She instilled in me a life long goal of increasing my vocabulary.
