School Story:
I remember when I was much younger as a primary school pulpil, my dad would always tell me "Chuks, I want you to school in Aquinas College". From there and then, the fire kept burning in me, even as a kid. I eventually did my common entrance choosing aquinas college as my number 1 choice, I still remember how very happy I was when I got admission. I got into the school in 1991, met some friends: Anayo Nwachukwu, Kunle Oluwatope (Yepa), Dotun Ayegbe, Obiora Udora, Okomoda Sunday, Doyin Adeniranye, Olugbenga Mese, Ogunleye Alex, then in SS 1, Dada Ambrose (now Fr. Ambrose) and a host of them. I still remeber vividly how Kunle got the name "Yepa"...lol..I think d '97 set still know d story. The teachers were disciplinarians, especially our principal of blessed memory, Chief E.R.A.Babalola (Ologba). The most fun filled week for us then was Aquinas week, which holds yearly, one of the days of the week was tagged "muturu day". It was always a day to eat plenty of rice and cow meat, during that week, Ologba would always pardon any offender saying "you should thank GOD it is ur week". Ah ah ah! how can I ever forget one major thing in the life of an average ACA student of our time..."Iya Bola", meeeen, if you didn't eat her rice and beans, you were better considered not to have attended the school. Taurus was also not an exception, where we drank garri with cooooooold water and groundnut. My people, story plenty jare....may I stop on this note with one of our songs:
Oh! Aquinas, oh! Aquinas
my love for you shall never never die,
Roses in the valley where the lillies are growing
my love for you shall never never die,
Others are coming while other are going
it is just the life in our school here........
ACA!!!...........Integritas!!!
