ROOTSTOWN - Christine E. Hummel, 42, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at home. Born May 23, 1958, in Allison Park, Pa., she was a daughter of Roy H. and Elizabeth (Neely) Cook. Formerly of Streetsboro, she lived in Rootstown since 1981. She was a machinist at Kennametal in Solon. Survivors include her husband, Albert Hummel, to whom she was married the past 23 years; sons Josh and Chad at home; daughter Jennifer at home; mother Elizabeth Cook of Pennsylvania; brother Butch Cook of Pennsylvania; sisters Mary Beth Bashtain, Teri Olliver and Joy Toomey, all of Pennsylvania; grandfather James W. Neely of Pennsylvania. Visitation will be from 3 until services at 5 p.m. Monday at Shorts Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, with the Msgr. Robert Sabatino officiating. Private burial will take place. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
