Comments:

After graduation, I spent almost 5 years living in Germany. My son was born in Heidelberg, Germany. We traveled extensively in southern Germany and Switzerland while we were there but also traveled many times to Austria, France, the Netherlands and Scandinavia. I've been as far north as Oslo, Norway, and as far west as Hawaii. Loved the traveling !! I've even been to Frankenstein's castle in Germany. Yes, there really is a Frankenstein's castle and he really did frighten the town below with all the lights and noise he was creating !! Two years after our return to the United States, hubby was sent to Viet Nam where he came home with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and we divorced. I then married the brother of our classmate, Bill Broyles. Ted and I were married almost 41 years. Between us, we have 6 kids, 17 grandkids and 23 great grandkids. I've taught Sunday School for many years, played the piano at church for MANY years. I've been a volunteer fireman and have had to climb inside a burning car to rescue a driver whose foot was wedged under the brake pedal. I've gone into a burning building three different times to rescue fallen firemen, including my own husband !! I was an EMT on the ambulance crew and fire department for over ten years. Loved the adrenalin flow and the idea that I was helping someone in distress. For the last 25 years I have been a medical transcriptionist. Still going at it, too.

School Story:

Not much to say here. After reaching the ripe old age of 40, I attended Southern Mo. State University in West Plains, MO. for a while. Never did graduate. Hubby thought it was a waste of time. But I managed to have a 4.0 average which I lauded over the grandkids. They say it really spurred them on. One is now a professor of US History (he has his doctorate) at the University of Missouri, Columbia. One is an architect and one is a computer analyst. Another is a grade school teacher. A granddaughter is a librarian. If Gramma could do it, they can, too. And they proved me right !!
