Robert Lloyd Stoudnour, 74, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Forked River, N.J., passed away Friday.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Wilbur and Grace (Paul) Stoudnour.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara (Hageman); two sons: Robert Lloyd Jr. and wife, Margaret, of York and Eric S. and wife, Kelli, of Hollidaysburg; and two grandchildren: Taylor Lee and Hunter Scott Stoudnour.
Robert was a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He retired as a nuclear chemist from GPU/Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant in New Jersey with more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg.
Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing pool with his sons and grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.

So sorry to hear that Bob has passed. He was my friend Delores Helsel's cousin and we had some good memories. Now they are both gone. Our sympathy to Bobby's family.

Wow, this hits home! Bob and I were childhood friends. We went to the same church, and same Boy Scout troop. We shared both playing bass horn in the band, and a hobby of raising tropical fish. Once we got hauled into the state police office in Holidaysburg and almost got arrested because a property owner didn't like that we were target shooting our .22 rifles on his property. His father was our Sunday School teacher and Scout Master for a while. Yep, this hits home - treasure life while you can! Al Baker

Bob was a very good friend. His family and mine went to the same church, in East End. Many fond memories of Bob and will always remember the fantastic singing voice he had. In later years we would invite him to sing solo's when he was in town visiting and after he moved back to the area. My sympathies to his wife, his son's and their families. Jackie & Don Grove

So sorry to hear of your loss. Bob and I had many a good times together while going through school. We played in the band together and horsed around together. We spent many hours in the sm]ummer playing in the Alto Cadet Band. These are things that you remember forever. He left lots of good mempories and will be sorely missed by all.

I was really surprised and saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Like a lot of others, we shared quite a few great times in various bands, including Alto Cadets and a dance band we were part of when we were either in Roosevelt or early H.S.-can't remember. Our sympathies to Bob's family. Al Baker is correct: life is getting short-enjoy to the fullest and be thankful for all we've done, shared and seen.

Bob was my next door neighbor from the time we were born. We had photos taken of us together on our first day of school and of our graduation day. He always let me play Cowboys and Indians with Him and the guys and lent me his cap guns to do so. I spent as much time in his house on East Walton Avenue as I spent in my own house. His parents were like my own. I will miss his presence on this earth. Praying for his family.

So saddened to pick up the paper and learn of Bob's death. In high school, he decided to study in Germany for the fall semester of our senior year, which meant the band would be short a full line of bass horns (tubas). During summer band that year, Mr. Monti called for a volunteer to learn to play the sousaphone. I raised my hand, took lessons from my trombone teacher and marched in Bob's place in line for football season. Then, we shared an apartment in State College during one tri-mester of our senior year. Bob's laugh was infectuous. My condolences to his family.

Bobby and I were friends from Junior High ,when we traded comic books, through our college years. I always appreciated his good humor and ready smiles. My condolences to his family and many friends.

I am sorry to learn of Bob Stoudnour's death. Bob, a great student, was in most of my classes at AHS. I enjoyed both his enlightened contributions to class discussions - and his informal "participation" that resulted in slivered eyes by some of our teachers! More sadness for the Class of '60....
