Cindy is survived by her husband (Andy) and three sons, David, Joshua, and Zachary. Cindy was living in Seattle, WA. She passed in her sleep on June 13, 2013. She will be missed by all...
I remember Cindy as a smart, happy, fun-loving classmate in high school. But more recently, I learned that my neighbor down the street in Corvallis, MT, had Cindy as a biology professsor in college in Seattle. Now a research biologist at a lab in Hamilton, MT, my friend said Cindy was adored by her students! She was not only an instructor, but a friend, mentor and advisor to countless biology students, many of whom went on to pursue medical and teaching careers.
I had intended to call Cindy and let her know that my neighbor and I had been singing her praises while our kids played together in our yard. I certainly regret not making that phone call.
May you rest in peace Cindy! Your life had far-reaching impacts!
I remember your serene smile and hearty, sardonic chuckle.
We had such a blast with our little gang in band camp of '78.
Dean and I had a crush on you during our sophmore year :)
It inspires me to see how you have built a family and touched so many as a professor.
It seems so wrong that you
and many of our friends have flown
while we abide.
