I'm trying to get a couple of people to come Friday also. Tina Prink and Grady Olson. Grady was just in a pretty serious accident so I'm not so sure if he'll be able to go, but hopefully he'll be able to get out for a while. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you...it's been such a long time! Thank you Jodie for making sure we are all getting the information...very cool of you! See you all soon.

I would be good for Sept. 6. Friday (the 5th) is my birthday so I had planned on coming into Appleton anyways to go out to dinner with some people. Put me down for that and I'll see you all Friday!! Katie Cross is coming also...she'll be a little late, but she'll be there.

Had a great time too Jodie. Even though when I start at 3pm, I do not make it all night long. It was definitely a fun night with all the usually pretty faces and some new ones too. See you all soon. As I said, I will be in Colombia, and will return 9/7 if I don't get kidnapped in the kidnapping capital of the World.

First, it was fun to see everyone again. Bravo to my best friend-Julie LaRock for driving up from Beaver Dam! Secondly, I have to say thank you to all that decided NOT to t.p. my house. I would have a lot of explaining to the hubby as to "WHY" our house got the new landscaping. Fruit- I know where you live!!!! And lastly, my inner stage mom shouts out...

Tonya - I will be there on the 13th. I have to go to a wedding that day and my boys will be at the cabin hunting.

I vote for Grumpy's, but I have a surprise b-day party to go to on the 5th, we probably won't get there until late or we would stop before the party.

OK - GRUMPY's on SEPT 5th works for me! I have a trade show/ expo the next two days (yuck!) but I can make a good showing on Friday night none-the-less (but NO SHOTS!) If Gwen & Shannon and SHELLY V. are there, then SO AM I! :-) (shelly, I hope Grady is okay- call me or email me- what happened?)
Sorry that I missed seeing Julie L - come to the next one too, okay?

Tonya, I can't do the 13th (sorry "stage-mom"). We have to attend a wedding that day/night.

Yes I watched the First 48 last night to the end. It was about Robert Bovinck. It made me very sad that a person could take someone else's life like that in the blink of an eye. Robert's mother was on at the end & described him as a happy person. She had a book of all his school pictures & he was smiling in every one of them....she also had a clipping from a newspaper that mentioned he ran across the state or the state(s) (sorry...I don't remember exactly what it said) to raise awareness and/or $ for the homeless. It's ironic that the one thing he was trying to raise awareness for he ended up living & experiencing in his own personal life. It made me cry & think about how much people take for granted in our everyday lives....most of us have at least one good meal everyday, a shower everyday, several changes of clothing for every season, a roof over our head & a warm bed to sleep in. Homeless people only have the clothes on their back & if they're lucky a few morsals at a local salvation army, red cross or a church lunch a few times a week. Robert's mother said, "Most people think that the homeless don't have any family or friends...that it's just something that happens...but what they don't realize is that it's circumstances that happen to people that make them homeless like losing a job or having an illness....but really, they do have families & friends everywhere that love them very much." She also said that "Robert is in a good place now & that he's being taken care of."

I would like to purpose that at our next happy hour, everyone bring at least 1-2 canned food items to be donated to the local Salvation Army in Robert's name. I think it would be a great tribute to a fellow classmate who went out of his way to raise awareness for people that are less fortunate. (I mean really....I think back at how much $ I spent at the last 2 happy hours & it makes me wonder how many people I could have fed with that $ had I donated it.....I think I can afford at least 1-2 canned food items.)

I would also like to see if anyone is interested in donating their time over the Thanksgiving/Christmas Holidays down at the Salvation Army to help serve food or spend time with the homeless & elderly that don't have family or friends to spend the holidays with.

If anyone is interested in joining me, please feel free to e-mail me. (mjkkvan@msn.com) I will contact the Salvation Army in Appleton to see what we need to do to sign up.

I always said, "when I grow up, I want to help people."

We can all make a difference in someone's life....why not make it a positive one...

May I ask what happend to Robert Bavink. He was a very good freind of mine in junior high. We split ways I guess as we got older. But we allways had the same taste in music. Krokus and other bands. He was a great guy. But I have no idea what happend with his death. Can some on please enlighten me. Thank you.

Jody,Shannon,
if you would prefer not to mention it on here that is fine. You have my email or Here it is. Dlmcq2@charter.net please let me know. I to enjoy helping out the poor or the homeless, I wish there more people out there that would help out other folks that need. It is easy to judge people but antoher to help them. Thanks so much for bringing this up and to all of our attentions. I look at this site daily to see if there are any new comments or faces on here. I really like this site. I just wish I was closer and didn't work a 100 hours a week.
