Heidi M. Riesing Fitzpatrick

I retired from my job as Director of Christian Education at First Congregational Church in Crystal Lake after 19 years in 2004. I am an election judge, a member of a couple of book clubs, a volunteer for a senior citizen organization,and a volunteer at church. I practice yoga 3 times a week. I love spending time with my husband, grandchildren, children, relatives, and friends. Fred and I have enjoyed many vacations together. Spending time in a cottage in northern Wisconsin is one of my favorite kind of vacations. The things I enjoy doing most are being with the people I love, cooking, dancing,and reading. I have done some reviewing of books for the clubs to which I belong. I hope to go on an Alaskan Cruise in the near future. To see my children and grandchildren have success and happiness in their lives is very important to me.

I only spent a short time in the school classroom with my teaching degree, but I have a great passion for the education and well-being of children. I spent much of my volunteer time in programs that helped children at school. Computers and cell phones are a challenge to me, but I have done some adjusting and limited learning in order to keep connected with my grandchildren and the world. That typing class I took in high school has served me well over the years.

My words of wisdom would be to take time to be fully present to yourself and the people around you. Love what you are doing.
