Moved to Knoxville 1978 and spent some of my happiest years with the best roommate and friend one could ever hope for, Jimmy Reid, aka The Tennessee Stud, Sofie Tucker’s baby boy. I miss you with each passing day. You accepted me for who I am. You made me laugh like nobody else and you lifted me from depression countless times. There wasn’t a selfish bone in your body and your caring was unconditional…just like Doc and Francis
I met the love of my life 25 years ago but marriage was not legal for folks like us back then. We tied the knot 10 years ago.
Standing in line waiting to enter Mrs. Rymer’s 1st grade classroom, my classmates were talking about their homemade calendars that were due that morning. I'd forgotten to make one and wasn’t about to blame my dog for something he did not eat. I bolted out and ran to the gas station next to The Huddle. Sock Fleming let me hide there until I figured out my next move. Sock ratted me out. My brother Joe captured me and returned me to City Park. I have no memory of what Mrs. Rymer and Prof did to me so it must have been traumatic.
A mutual friend had Meredith, my hubby and me over for lunch a couple of weeks ago. I’ve not seen that fabulous woman since. school daze! Your name came up a few times :)
