I knew Stephen from Encinal Elementary and throughout MA years, and enjoyed seeing him at the reunions. I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was a great guy. Elaine
I was so saddened to see that Steve Berg has left us AND thankful for many wonderful memories of him and his family. His parents Noyon and Daniel were friends of my parents - I remember them as such refined, sophisticated, and FUN people. Steve and I were good buds over the years and the last time I saw him was in the late 60's when we both lived in New York City...many fun times, dinners, and entertaining friends together. His crooked little smile, twinkle in his eye and soft chuckle live on in my heart!
I remember Steve as a fellow tennis player on MA's team. He was a good athlete and a good competitor. I also remember that he had a mischievous way about him, teasing and playing jokes on various team members. I know nothing about his life after MA and would be interested in hearing what profession he fulfilled and who he became as an adult. John Katonah
I remember Steve with fondness. He was such a fun character and we were good buddies during my 2 years at MA. I remember going to his house after school and his mother was such a dear, preparing snacks for us and always interested in what all the "kids" were up to. What a loss too early. I am sad I lost touch with him..........
Stephen was a great buddy forever, from second grade to the end. I was with him the week before he passed. That particular day he did not recognize me for the hour I was there. When I started to leave, I said "Stevie I love you", he opened his eyes and said "Frankie, you have always loved me". What a gift. I think of him often.
When I think of Steve Berg - I think of Frank Pipgras - at Hillvew School! They were the best of friends! How special that Frank got to spend time with Steve before he passed away. It seemed that Steve was always busy running around at Hillview. He was such a nice person - and he had some funny things to say! Steve always made me feel special! Steve will be missed at the reunion .
On returning to this wonderful M-A site after quite a long absence I find myself revisiting Steve's passing. We spent a lot of time together in our Hillview days, and continued as friends at M-A. Now some 54 years later -- all of them far from Menlo and Steve -- I find that I still miss him. A sharp, active and very funny guy --
