I totally agree with Angela. I don't think anyone is trying to upset anyone intentually. I believe concerns are being brought to the committee's attention to be addressed. So far, the concerns have been addressed and questions answered. THANK YOU! Oh, and before I forget: Thank you for your "free labor" LOL for making the effort of planning a great reunion! It IS ALL volunteer work and time consuming. I think it's great that you guys have taken time out of your busy lives and have taken on this huge challenge. True, not everyone will be pleased - too many people with different opinions.
I have sent a message to Bridget, manager of Beefs in Adale, to see what it would entale for a huge group to use the restaurant. She has volunteered in the past to try to assist with the reunion. I was thinking it might be a good place for the Friday before get together.

I just want to thank all who are involved in the planning of the reunion-I know it takes alot of work- it sounds to me like it will be a really nice event. Unfortunately I will be out of town that week and will not be able to make it back in time to attend. I also want to add that I was not shocked by the price and I am in agreement that many reunions that some of my friends and family have attended have been comparable in price. At any rate, I hope those of you who can make it have a great time and please post lots of pics.

Hey Everyone,
Thank you to all those who have put their efforts in planning our 20th Reunion. I am looking forward to the Saturday night event and seeing everyone again. I will be flying in from Tennessee and in town Friday.
This website is a wonderful tool for reconnecting with friends. Thanks!

Hello Everyone.....

Just wanted to add. Thank You to Wendy! Fabulous Job on the website. As with all the communication about the place and price for the Reunion we all know it is very difficult to please everyone, of course with our 10 year we had complaints but it was GREAT so we want our 20 year to be even BETTER. Everyone is correct we ALL have a lot going on in each of our lives, so lets move on and look forward to October 4th for our 20th Class Reunion.

If you are able to come to one of the planning meetings it will be Thursday, September 4th at 6:00 at the Auburndale Library. Hope to see some new faces:)

I think the next poll on the home page should be one regarding the cost of the reunion. That way we can find out how many people are not going because of the cost. The idea, I think, is to get as many people together as want to at a cost that is reasonable. Anyone else have a thought?

The following email is the latest update on a class mate of ours: DALE LIGGETT (LEFEVER). He continues to need our prayers!
Lori Lee Duphorne

Thank you for your prayers. Dale is on the road to recovery, we got some good news today. His left lung is healed up and they removed one of his chest tubes on the left side. Dale is also more alert and he is speaking with a trac valve.
Thanks for keeping Dale and I in your prayers. Please keep them going he has a long road a head, but I know my Daley, he will make it. Now we have to see if he can fight the infection in the right lung. That is the one that is really bad right now. I will tell him you sent your love, thoughts, and prayers. And thank you for the information on the website.
God Bless you,
Chrissy

MY WIFE SPOKE WITH DALE YESTERDAY.
HERE IS AN UPDATE SHE SEND OUT ON MYSPACE.

Dale and Chrissy ask that you please continue to pray for Dale. He sounded very weak when I spoke with him today. He has lost 45 pounds. He is at Lakeland Hospital rm 485 and would enjoy getting cards and such from his friends. He said he is going stir crazy. His lungs are weak. It is very hard for him to speak. He has been through quite an ordeal. For those who have missed the last 2 post...

Dale was in a jet ski accident at Lake Winterset on August 2nd. His Jet Ski malfunctioned and he hit a dock head on. His heart has some damage (bruising) and he has a lung infection in his left lung. He was in a type of coma for 3 weeks. He has had grand mal seizures . He is just now talking, but still has tubes and stuff in him. He said more than anything your prayers means the most to him.

He is strong and has a wonderful woman standing beside him. He is on his road to recovery. But these things take time.

Blessings,
Stephanie

Hi, guys, and thanks for the hard work putting this page and the reunion together. Unfortunately, at that high cost, my husband and I will have to catch you if there is a casual event. His cancer is back in full force and is no longer treatable. He is no longer able to work at all and we are trying to make my teacher's salary stretch each month so we don't have to touch savings and retirement. The fact is, most people in today's economy can't afford such a high cost, but for those of you who are fortunate to do so, I sincerely hope you have a blast.

As SGA sponsor at AHS, I have been in charge of homecoming festivities for the past six years. Last year, the class of 1987, led by Ruben Sanchez, joined the Homecoming Parade Thursday night of Homecoming week (and had on of the best floats in the parade) and was given VIP treatment at the football game. They were even asked to parade their float around the track pre-game Friday night and were introduced to the fans, who got a big kick out of seeing the old folks acting a fool on their float. I don't have the time to coordinate this for the class of 88 with all my responsibilities leading into homecoming week, but if anyone else who is local enough to get together that week feels up to it, let me know and I'll put you in the lineup in a great spot. Class of '87 had a great time. Parade night is Thursday, October 16, the game is Friday the 17th, and the dance is Saturday the 18th. You guys wouldn't believe what we have done with the dance. I'm not kidding when I tell you that the kids flock to the dance and enjoy it more than Prom.

In terms of a more affordable gathering for the reunion, if anyone wants to try to organize a casual event the same weekend as the reunion but a different night, I'd be happy to try and help. I don't think we would need to rent a room or anything, just take an interest poll and find a bar or restaurant that can hold the number of us interested. Tanner's and stuff is to upity anyway - most of us who just want to hang out would be happy to meet up at Beef's or Kazbor's or even Smokin' Jims for that matter, depending on how many of us there are.

Again, the committee is doing a great job and the event sounds very cool, just not the style of many of us and not affordable, either. This website is awesome, no doubt.

I am so sorry to hear of your husband's health Jenny. Your family are in my prayers as well as Dale.

Ruben had a great time rubbing my nose in that the c/o 87 had a great float and goated me about c/o 88 not being able to meet the challenge. I had planned on suggesting the float thing myself, but unfortunately I am not able to do anything with it since we reside in another state now. I was told by Ruben that they had a GREAT time doing it and tried to get me to help THEM - HA HA!!
I can ask Ruben if he would be interested in letting us borrow a platform if anyone wants to take on the challenge. I would help in any fashion that I can.

As far as the casual thing. The reunion committee probably has their hands full with the planning of the formal event and I can help with this from a distance. If no one has a problem with it or any objections, I can head up the casual thing - getting the place and seeing about reserving a "table" if I can get a actual number of attending. I think having the formal and informal thingy will meet everyone's needs and desires and it will be a c/o 88 weekend. Dave Goodell also mentioned the picnic thing as well and then maybe Pleasure Island???? Just let me know what you think. You can reach me at ccfx2mom@yahoo.com, myspace.com/shannonfarrington, myspace.com/adalegrads88, and of course here :o)

Just want to thank you guys again for this great website and all the hard work you are doing to make this stuff happen. I love looking at the site every other day or so to see who else has posted pics and stuff. The class of 88 has so many great stories, memories and family pictures. Thanks again.

Does anyone know how the meeting went tonight? Thanks..

The meeting went great. We had 7 people total and everyone is concentrating on donations. We need merchandise for the raffle and of course we'll take cash if someone wants to donate that! The next meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 11th at 6:00 pm at the Auburndale Library.

Hi, Wendy.

I'm looking forward to the reunion and seeing everyone again. I would like very much to attend the meeting, but I am unable to come from Tampa on a Thurs. evening.

I would like to donate or do something to help the committee, though.

I will try and attend this Thurs., if at all possible.

Hi everyone. Regarding getting together in more casual setting on Friday night; why don't people work that out on individual basis. I believe the committee has done their part in creating this reunion. Seems like now that we have access to each other's email we all have the ability to organize small groups if people want to to visit more some time over the weekend. Peace and love to everyone:)

Here is an update from Dale.....

Well folks for those of you who didn't know it, I was in a serious jet ski accident on August 2nd. I had 7 broken ribs and a collapsed left lung and a heart contusion. I ran into a dock doing 40-50 mph. I spent 6 weeks in the hospital and had 4 chest tubes and a tracheotomy while there. I am home now thinner than ever. I lost 45 lbs. I still have trouble eating because my esophagus has shrunk up and won't let anything besides liquids or very soft bland foods down to my stomach. I am also on anti-seizure medication which makes me very tired. I had a grand mal seizure the second day in the hospital which is why they put me on that medication. I am at home just resting and trying to get better. I just want to thank everyone for your prayers because they really did help. The doctors expected me to be in for 3 months. I will try to answer replies as best I can but I do get tired of typing after a while. If you have my cell number or want it send me a reply and I will give out to certain folks that I know. Well that is it for now. Take care and God Bless.

Allie Dickson (*wright*)

Hi guys...
That weekend is gonna be very special with a lot of friends in town and that sort of thing...I don't want to miss anyone if at all possible. So, even though smaller gatherings is a good idea for Friday night, I want to know the biggest one with the most of my friends and the most fun!! If there is gonna be a few different places on Friday night...just post them all, heck I haven't forgotten how to "hop"...lol!! I'll stop in at several places if thats what it takes. The whole weekend will be fun!! I also want to meet where ever that Sat. morning too. Same thing, I'll go to a few places for that as well...just post them up so Ill know.
Wish I could be a part of the meetings, but I'm always working and by the time I wake up I feel like the short fat guy on the commercial, except my words are "time to cut some hair"...lol!!! Anyway, I think the weekend will be one to remember. Whats funny is, we are gonna get together and notice that we've all seen each other at Wal-Mart and not known who everyone is....lol!!!!
Shannon, let me know what you plan and if others have plans too...I'll hit them as well. You know what....I can have a bash here. But I don't want to unless most people want to come, cause then I won't be able to leave to go "hop" other ones. If anyone is interested in meeting up at my house that Friday night...let me know and we will see if it would be worth it to do it here. My home is in the "moving mode"with a few boxes in the corners, But we can have a true blue camp fire/ cookout / loud music party for all here at mt place....let me know.

Good idea, Allie. If everyone will post where they plan to meet then we can go party crashing. Sounds like fun! LOL
